Your classroom: Here's the shop area. 3 - double work stands to allow for work on 6 bikes simultaneously. The shop also features all new professional Park tools and other hand tools. Two pro Park truing stands; compressed air at every station; parts-washer; drill press, bench grinder, etc.

Spring 2008 - UPDATE
3/13/08

• The Mar. 15th & 22nd classes are full, but we have a waiting list that we can add you to. Students are required to pay for the classes at least a week prior to the class to hold their places.


• Additional hands-on basic/ intermediate bike tune-up classes (directly thru our Center) are now scheduled for the following dates & times:

Mar. 15th, Sat. - 10 am - 1 pm - Basic
Mar. 22nd, Sat. - 10 am - 1 pm - Intermediate

These classes will be limited to 6 people with 1 bike ea. (friends w/out bikes are allowed; see below) and first-come-first served. Advanced registration & payment is required to assure your spot.

Come in to the Center during our business hours to register/ pay or call and we can do it over the phone. See below for more details:


MSU Evening College Classes


These are now over this year; notes for the classes are available below.

Our 2nd year of bike maintenance/ tuning related classes were offered thru the MSU Evening College.  They’re publicized thru the Evening College web site and print catalogs that get distributed all over the place.

Basics of Bike Maintenance for Enjoyable Riding
Feb. 16th, 10 – noon, Kellogg Center. No bikes necessary; lecture style with a lot of show & tell. Click here for the class notes from 2007...

Basic Bike Tune-up
Offered both Feb. 23rd and Mar. 8th, 10 – 1 pm., MSU Bikes Service Center, max. of 6 people w/ their bikes (or we can provide bikes for learning). Click here for class notes from 2007 class....

Good music, coffee and other refreshments included.


Basic Bike Tune-up – 3 hr class; Same content, rules and price as the Evening College class above. Max. of 6 people w/ their bikes (we can provide bikes for learning). Intermediate Bike Tune-up 3 hr class; We’ll go into more depth in all the areas covered in the basic class plus truing wheels in the pro truing stands, drive-train cleaning, using a parts washer to better clean parts, everything else short of over-hauling bearings.  $69 per person.  Max. of 6 people with their bikes (we can provide bikes for learning); bring a friend to watch or help for an addtl. $20.

Class Reports/ Archives

The first series of classes held at the MSU Bikes Service Center have come to a close. If you include the 21 participants in an MSU Evening College lecture that Tim gave on "Basics of Bike Maintenance" we'll have instructed 40 paying students on varying levels.
